Articles & Guides: Audio & Converters: Audacity - XP/Vista/etc. - Audio recording tools and sophisticated editing functions. You can even create audio soundscapes from scratch. You can add any of several dozen effects and use a sound mixer. (Different versions from AudacitySourceForge.net) AudioCrusher - etc. - encode your CDs into any major format, including MP3, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, and WMA. (The only encoding formats built in to the software are RAW audio, WAV, and WMA. To encode your music in MP3 and other formats, you'll have to download and install the encoding engines.) AV Music Morpher - XP - Free software with a remarkable suite of tools for editing music. Big Ben - etc. - Play a selected section of the Westminster chimes on the quarter- and half-hour. CDBurnerXP Pro 3.0.116 Beta - XP/etc. - Write to CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD+R/RW discs. Record many popular audio formats--MP3, OGG, and WMA. Rips the big three audio formats mentioned above without making intermediate WAV files. Supports jitter-correction ripping modes to rip tracks from scratched CDs and restore damaged tracks. CDex - XP/etc. - Extract music tracks from an audio CD and store them as .wav or MP3 sound files. Supports WAV, MP3, OGG, VQF, and APE. dBpowerAMP Music Converter - XP/etc. - Handles music on audio CDs to WAV or MP3 format and vice versa. It sports a volume normalization feature (ensuring that all tracks play at the same volume). DJ Player - etc. - Take your choice of more than 50 channels of uninterrupted music from the Internet. FoxyTunes (for IE) - XP/etc. - a toolbar for controlling a multitude of media players including windows Media Player, winAmp, and iTunes from within the browser. FreeRip MP3 - XP/etc. - Convert between audio formats, so you can save your CD tracks as WAV files, MP3s, or whatever file type best suits your media player. iTunes - XP/Vista/Mac - A fresh way to browse your music and a new automatic playlist-generation feature dubbed Genius. LimeWire Basic - XP/etc. - A peer-to-peer file sharing program. You can run unlimited simultaneous searches for videos, images, documents, programs and audio and your results are displayed via a tabbed interface. MediaCoder - XP/Vista/etc. - Transform media files between formats, shrink files with little quality loss, extract audio from video files, and much more, this is the program for you. MP3 to WAV Decoder - XP/etc. - Drag and drop an unlimited number of files to convert in batches. MP3Gain - XP/etc. - Equalizes MP3 volume levels. It does so by modifying the appropriate metadata of each file so that music software and portable players know what the volume should be. Fortunately, it makes no changes to the actual music contained within each MP3, so there's no loss of sound quality. NexEncode Studio - etc. - Free program that lets you encode/decode MPEG-Audio Layer 3 (MP3) files, and it can rip CDs onto your hard drive. Real Alternative - XP/etc. - Plays RealAudio (.ra and .rpm) and Realmedia (.rm, .ram, .rmvb, .rpx) files just like RealPlayer and RealOne Player do. It's RealMedia browser plug-in supports Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape, and Opera. RightClick-MP3 - etc. - Rips and encodes MP3 files with a simple right-click menu option. Move music and sound files from MP3 to WAV and back again with a few quick clicks. Simplify Media - Connect your music. Listen to your home music over the Internet. Browse and play your friends' songs on your computer or iphone. Winamp Full - XP/Vista/etc. - It plays videos as well as music. Also very useful is the ability to listen to AOL's Shoutcast radio stations. You can't rip CDs to MP3 files. Make sure to uncheck boxes next to those options if you don't want them during the installation. Yahoo Music Jukebox - XP/Vista/etc. - Plays, rips, and burns music files, and listen to Internet radio stations. When installing uncheck the Yahoo extras that you don't want. CD/DVD: Daemon Tools Lite - XP/Vista/etc. - emulates CD/DVD drives by loading disc images into memory. DeepBurner Free - XP/etc. - A effective burning program, but it's limited to basic tasks. DVD Decrypter - Copy video DVD to your computer hard drive with one mouse click, removes all the protections while copying. DVDFab HD Decrypter 5.0.2.0 or Free DVD - DVDFab HD Decrypter is a simple version of DVDFab Platinum. It copies entire DVD movie to hard disk, and removes all the protections (CSS, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) while copying. It also comes with full HD-DVD and Blu-Ray support (Removes AACS). Free DVD removes several protections from a DVD folder on the hard disk. It removes region code (RC), region code enhancement (RCE), analog copy protection, and user operation prohibitions (UOPs).

(Other Download) Visual CD - XP/Vista/etc. - Create searchable catalogs of pictures, video, music and other files that you've moved onto dvd's or other optical media. File Management: Adobe Digital Editions - Offers an engaging way to view and manage eBooks and other digital publications. Use it to download and purchase digital content. Excel Spreadsheet Password Remover - XP/etc. - Crack your own forgotten password and regain access to your Excel data. HoboCopy - Vista/etc. - Copy files that are in use with this clever utility. It's a Command-line tool and once you get the hang of it, easy to use. Rename Master - XP/Vista - Rename a whole bunch of files at once. Renamer - XP/Vista - Set up fairly robust rules for renaming files in a batch. Supercopier Beta - XP/etc. - Transfer resuming, copy speed computation and control, improved copy progress display, copy list editable while copying, copy list saving/loading, and an error log. TeraCopy - XP/Vista - Pause and resume copying, verifies the copying--and overall, copies files faster. Total Copy - XP/etc. - Move numerous files faster than Windows can and even pause the action. Undelete Plus - XP/etc. - It scans your system for files that have been deleted, even those removed from the Recycle Bin. Internet Tools: FlashGet - XP/Vista/etc. - Download your files faster, and organize them the way you like them. NoDelay script - Removes the delay in navigating to the download links on many upload sites. Irfanview - XP/Vista/etc. - View photos, manipulate, resize, & other basic editing. Paint.Net - XP/Vista - Manipulation tool includes unlimited undos, special effects, and even the ability to work in layers. Smugmug - Online photo backup and sharing. Video: FLV Player - XP/etc. - FLV Player is a standalone application for playing Flash .flv files. Lifextender Beta - Automatically removes the commercials from recorded TV shows. Miro (Democracy Player) - XP/Vista/etc. - This video feed aggregator-cum-personal video recorder as part of its larger goal of jumpstarting a grassroots Internet TV model. It lets you browse and subscribe to video channels. TubeMe - XP - Save YouTube videos with this slick tool. Video Dub - Free Video Dub is the free video editing software that lets you delete unwanted parts from video files without re-encoding. And "without re-encoding" means without loosing original quality!!! This is a lossless video editing, which is very fast. Supports many MPEG files: MPEG 1, MPEG 2 and even MPEG 4 AVI, MOV, MP4, M4V, MPG and FLV files including DivX and XviD. Video to JPG Converter - Make video snapshots and extract frames from video files to JPG files with one mouse click. It is an ideal tool to make photo galeries from your home video. You can extract for example every hundredth video frame or frames in every 10 seconds. Virtual Dub - XP - An all-in-one tool for capturing and editing video files.
